This got me over the first 2-3 weeks of what was quite difficult feeding and very sore nipples. I think, if my memory serves, it does say you can leave it on when feeding but I have always wiped it off as I wouldn't want to eat it so why would my baby.

This is the best product I found for cracked nipples when breast feeding. It provided instant relief. Although it is pricey,it is well worth it, and a tube has lasted longer than the nipples took to heal.

Lansinoh Lanolin cream (gel ?) was the product I had been looking for over the past few years. It has allowed me to face the world (pun intended..) without the dread every morning of waking up to dry skin looking back at me in the mirror.
Once you have warmed the tube up a little in your hands it is ready for application.
Diagnosed with dermatitis years ago, Lansinoh Lanolin is the only product I have found to relieve my condition. Daktacort is my prescribed application but turned the areas red after use.
A big thank you then Lansinoh for a first class product that really works...
